From the Pastor
To the Members and Visitors of Westridge:
The congregation of Westridge Baptist Church, in Grand Prairie has undergone big changes since we moved to this building after the State Highway department bought and torn down the old building. We have experienced a major turnover of members and attendees. For whatever reason God has chosen to use this move in such a way as to revitalize and rejuvenate the ministry of this established congregation. It is as if the corporate body has experienced a new life of its own. Our vision is being restored, our hearts have been reheated, and our call has been resounded. God has remade Westridge Baptist Church with new believers, and revived members and our desire is to see a growing and deepening church glorify God in the greater Dallas Ft. Worth area. Our mission had been summed up into the three activities of “Magnifying the Lord, Ministering to Others, and Making Disciples.”
The great thing about being in the metro-plex area of two of the country’s greatest and best loved cities is the regular opportunity to come into contact with an enormous number of people (both native and tourists) that need to hear the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our church is setting out on an endeavor to impact this metropolitan area and to do our part to saturate this unique mission field with the love of Jesus. We are excited about what God can do through those that are willing and ready to serve Him.
We are blessed to be located near one of the greatest evangelical training schools in America.Dallas Baptist University was placed in the area to help establish a stronger Baptist witness and to assist the local churches in their call to evangelize the lost of this strategic city. DBU is still a leader in the call to reach Dallas and Ft. Worth for Christ.
Grand Prairie is a city with such a wonderful and varied past, yet it is also a city of great spiritual darkness. This is certainly a mission field unlike any in the United States. Home to every sort of people group the world has to offer, the area is brimming with great food, great music and great need.
If you are a metro-plex resident, we invite you to join us for instruction, fellowship, worship, and encouragement. If you are visiting the area, we would love to have you come by and see us. May God bless you as you seek Him and His will for your life.
