Westridge
Our Mission
With energy and wisdom supplied by God’s Holy Spirit, we will live as a team of believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, offering love and hope in a world of hate and despair. We will challenge people to find a personal relationship with God and we will encourage everyone to achieve their full Christian potential through the reading and hearing and studying of God’s word.
Vision
Westridge Baptist Church is “an oasis of faith at a busy crossroad” within a City of constant flux. The church is in a unique position to this ever-evolving community if we continuously develop innovative ways to invite people to experience God’s eternal and unchanging grace. Therefore, to satisfy the spiritual needs of the changing population served by WestridgeBaptistChurch we, as a congregation, should:
· By our faithful worship, willing involvement in church activities, hands-on community and global outreach we better experience the “Christ in us”.
· Be responsive to God’s challenge to live out our faith seven days a week by: proclaiming salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior, worshipping steadfastly, offering earnestly our unique talents, teaching and learning God’s messages from scripture, and engaging in the power of prayer and meditation.
· Foster spiritual growth of individuals through reassurance, inspiration and guidance so that all people can be vehicles for God’s constant gifts of love, and forgiveness. Within this atmosphere a level of comfort and pride can be developed in proclaiming the good news, witnessing, and evangelizing.
· Enhance our quality teaching and learning opportunities.
· Attract and inspire the neighborhood population to make Westridge Baptist Church spiritual home by: directly inviting the surrounding community; routinely communicating worship opportunities and other daily activities; developing a climate of inclusion – by being a congregation sensitive to diversity and with a desire to remove prejudice as an obstacle in order to achieve the closeness we value.
· Boldly serve the global and local communities as needs and opportunities arise, (i.e. missionary support, conference needs, global and national disasters and response to hunger).
· Develop a sharing ministry partnership with other nearby churches.
